Celebrations of the Festival of Colours

Matthew visited Bhaktivedanta Manor to celebrate the Festival of Colours and Holi. The rain meant that the larger event was cancelled, including throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other, but Matthew took part in the Holika Dahan.

Speaking to those who attended the event, Matthew told the audience that he was particularly pleased to visit the new goshala as he had grown up in the countryside and also worked on a farm. He also spoke about the contribution made by the Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and Jain community in Hendon and his excitement for the Krishna Avanti School.

Matthew said, “This is not my first visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor and it is fantastic to return. The Festival of Colours may have been affected by the rain but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of all those who were able to attend.”
