Former Labour Councillor joins Conservative Ranks!

Cllr Ansuya Sodha, until recently a member of the Barnet Labour Group, has crossed the floor to join the Conservatives. At the meeting of full council on Tuesday evening, Cllr Sodha took up her place on the Conservative benches, increasing their majority on the council.

London Mayor visits Hendon!

London Mayor Boris Johnson visited the constituency of Hendon last week touring around the constituency visiting 'The Boys Clubhouse' and the hotel, 'The Pillar'.

Cllr Hugh Rayner inspects Hale ward for damage after Monday night’s windy weather. “Although, there is damage, most is slight and repairable. Unfortunately, the trees haven’t fared quite so well. With several trees falling across Hale ward’s open areas” 

Plaque unveiling, former Officers’ Mess, Millbrook Estate

A plaque recording the tenure of Inglis Barracks, Mill Hill, by the Middlesex Regiment from 1905 till 1966, was unveiled on the façade of the former Officers’ Mess on 14 August 2013 by Martin Russell, deputy Lord Lieutenant for Barnet at a ceremony attended by the Mayor, Cllr Melvin Cohen, the President of the Middlesex Regimental Association, Col Rex Cain, local councillors John  Hart and Sury Khatri and Major Paddy O’Brien, the former DLL, whose  sub-committee ensured  the retention of the Mess buildings and their curtilage when all else on the barracks site was marked for demolition in order to create new housing.

A victory for common sense

Our issue with locating another school on The Fairway has always been concerned with traffic. The traffic situation in The Fairway and surrounding roads is not great at the moment, especially around school start and finish times. But it is manageable.

Update on Scratchwood Open Space

Scratchwood Open Space for those of you who are unaware, is located on the left as you travel north towards Stirling Corner.It is a wonderful area of parkland owned by the LBB and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.

Fun in Grahame Park

The Grahame Park Fun Day was held last weekend, with Matthew Offord MP and Miss Nneka Akwaeze and Mrs Golnar Bokaei of the Association's Colindale Ward Team attending.
