Yesterday I was at the Food Bank all morning as I am every Wednesday.
But this was a special day amid a special year.
Christmas with Covid 19 is a unique experience. Many are living with food insecurity as never before. Some have other serious issues which impact, including medical and mental health and these are exacerbated now.
Added to this bubbling cauldron is the fact that many people are too frightened to even pick up what they need at the Food Bank. So some people visit, and I have the opportunity to listen and help with their problems, and others have parcels delivered to their homes.
Yesterday everyone got a bit of Christmas cheer from me personally - boxes of holiday biscuits and Quality Street.
I hope they and all our residents in West Hendon have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
The days of our lives will soon look up.
