Another year another broken promise by Barnet’s Labour council. In the run-up to the local elections of 2022, Barnet Labour made two promises concerning council tax. Firstly, they would rebate 1% of council tax back to Barnet residents.
On the 1st November 2022 at a full council meeting, a motion was put forward by Cllr Dan Thomas which was unanimously voted on by both Labour and Conservative members to not raise the Garden Waste Charge above £70 till 2026.
At the budget council meeting on the 27th of Feb, Barnet’s Labour Council pushed through changes to the planning regimen that will potentially make it harder for residents’ voices to be heard at planning.
