Your Colindale Ward Team intend to do their utmost to help residents in Colindale with any issue that they may have.
Your Colindale Ward Team consists of:
Mrs Golnar Bokaei -
Golnar is a solicitor and business owner who works in Central London. She lived in Colindale until recently moving to Mill Hill. She worked and studied as a single mother raising her two children and her goal for Colindale is to try and improve employment prospects for young people and single mothers in the Colindale area. She believes that this can be done by negotiating with local and national businesses and colleges to generate work experience and apprenticeships. Golnar also believes that women's contributions within the community are underrated and would look to devise a mechanism to ensure better understanding and integration of women in the job market.
Miss Nneka Akwaeze -
Nneka lives on the Grahame Park Estate and successfully campaigned to have the flooded underpass at Cherry Close, Colindale to be drained and cleaned for the first time in many years. Nneka suffers from a rare type of Sclerosis which means she uses the NHS more than most and therefore has an interest in health matters. Her interests cross-over with her job as Nneka works for a London Hospital Charity as a qualified accountant. She has brought up her nephew since he was a baby and such experience has taught her a great deal about single-parenthood and guardianship. Experiences like this have also driven Nneka to be interested in parent and child affairs as well as in health.
Mr William Nicholson -
William, or Bill as he's more affectionately known, has lived within the constituency of Hendon, which includes the Colindale area, for over 30 years. Bill runs his own Architectural and Garden Design Practice and such a job has led to Bill becoming greatly interested in matters of planning and the environment. Bill is also concerned about the scale of pub closures not just nationally but within the area of Colindale and would like to see pubs continuing to thrive rather than struggle.
